Tikkun Olam Collective Vision (21)
On January 8th, the Community Midrasha held a special program for our 8th and 9th grade students focusing on the values of tikkun olam (repairing the world) that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel brought to the world during the civil rights era. The program, based in part to the Sprit in Action's collective visioning campaign, allowed the students to review the Jewish middot (values) these great leaders brought to the world as well as how our students could imagine making a difference and change to the community they live in (both at the Community Midrasha and the greater Durham/Chapel Hill communities). -
